Mark Saghy Baseball Recruiting Seminar

Mark Saghy will be presenting a seminar on the subject of College Baseball Recruiting on Thursday, February 23 at 7:00 pm in the Spirit Room of the PR football stadium. Mark has helped countless high school players achieve their dreams of playing college baseball, and in this talk he will share his thoughts on how to navigate the recruiting process. There is no charge to attend, and all are welcome!

WOLFE P.A.C.K. Baseball Equipment Drive

The Pine-Richland Baseball Volunteer Organization, also known as WOLFE P.A.C.K (Players About Community and Kids), is coordinating its first ever baseball equipment drive!!! We are coordinating this effort with the Roberto Clemente Foundation with all donations destined for Puerto Rico. A few of our WOLFE P.A.C.K members will be on hand to personally distribute the equipment to the children. For more details click here.

Rams Finish Season 13-6

Pine-Richland finished the season with a 2-1 loss to Bethel Park in the WPIAL Playoffs. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for a terrific season. With seven ball games decided by one run, and a couple of walk-off wins, you certainly gave the fans lots of excitement. Best of luck to the graduating seniors!

Junior High Completes Season as Section Champs

The Junior High team wrapped up its season this week with a 15-3 overall record, including the best record in its section. Congratulations to the coaches and players on a terrific season!

Neil Walker Bobblehead Night

The Pittsburgh Pirates have set aside a section for PR Baseball fans to gather for Neil Walker Bobblehead Night on Saturday, May 21 at the 7:05 pm game.

This is a great opportunity to get together with fellow PR fans and enjoy a night of baseball at PNC Park. Tickets can be ordered directly through the Pirates using this form.

Ram Fan Day A Hit!

Almost 200 people attended Ram Fan Day on Thursday afternoon to enjoy a rare sunny day of baseball. Fans were treated to a free hotdog, chips, cookie and drink, and got to see an exciting 5-4 win against section rival North Hills.

Player Volunteer Organization Formed -- The Wolfe P.A.C.K.

PR Baseball Boosters announce the formation of the "Wolfe P.A.C.K". The Wolfe P.A.C.K. (Players About Community and Kids) is a player initiated and led organization of PR baseball players whose intent is to volunteer in various opportunities within the community and to mentor the youth baseball players of Pine Richland. The players are actively involved in their first service project--providing instruction and encouragement at the Pine Richland youth winter baseball training sessions.

About PR Baseball

The Pine-Richland school baseball program has enjoyed a rich history of tradition and success. The varsity team won three consecutive WPIAL Championships from 2004 -2006, were PIAA State Champions in 2006, and most recently won the 2010 AAAA WPIAL Championship. The future of our program is bright, with our junior varsity, junior high, and middle school teams showing much promise for continued success in the future.

Pine-Richland Baseball photo Our program moved from Class AAA to Class AAAA during the 2006-2007 school year. We now compete against local rivals such as North Allegheny, Seneca Valley, Shaler, Butler, and North Hills.

A number of our athletes have gone on to play collegiate and minor league professional baseball, and are having success in their baseball careers. Neil Walker, a first round selection of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2004 and current major leaguer, was a graduate of the Pine-Richland school district.

Approximately 4,500 students attend the Pine-Richland school district which is located approximately 20 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
